International Federations Reach Digital Records
Volleyball World, FIBA 3x3 record milestones
Posted On: October 3, 2024 By :Two international federations have announced digital records in the months following the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.
Volleyball World has surpassed the milestone of 1.5 million members worldwide on its proprietary media platform, VBTV and is unveiling a new and upgraded platform. The new platform offers content from the sport’s biggest international competitions to the professional and collegiate leagues and action from the Beach Pro Tour.
“We are thrilled to offer our global audience from almost 180 different countries a brand new VBTV experience that is built with the latest technology and designed specifically for their needs,” said Finn Taylor, chief executive officer of Volleyball World. “With the invaluable support of FIVB, we continue with our ambition to make volleyball content more accessible, enjoyable and engaging for our global community, connecting fans to the sport they love.”
Meanwhile, the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series has reached record engagement, with the final bringing the 2024 season to a close in Hangzhou, China, on September 8. The 3×3 women’s professional basketball circuit shattered previous records for online engagement and drew 50 million impressions across its digital platforms, a 51% increase compared to the previous year.
The Women’s Series’ commitment to connecting with its fans evident in the 2.7 million engagements recorded in 2024, representing a 35% increase compared to the previous year as the Series enters its sixth season
“It is an exciting time for 3×3 basketball as we build on the momentum from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” said FIBA 3×3 Managing Director Alex Sanchez. “The new records that have been set in digital engagement demonstrate the rapid growth we are seeing in women’s 3×3 both in terms of the quality of the competition and its popularity. We know that this is only the beginning and that there is huge potential for further growth.”
