Steve Bone, president and CEO of the Huntington Beach Marketing and Visitors Bureau, has announced that he will be retiring from the organization in September 2013.
As the founding chairman and current president of the HBMVB, Bone has more than 27 years of experience in the Huntington Beach hospitality industry.
“Steve has done a terrific job during his five years as president of the visitors bureau and will be greatly missed,” said Brett Barnes, chairman of the HBMVB board of directors. “He has assembled a solid team that has formed both a Film and Sports Commission, published an eco/sustainable guide and a Huntington Beach Dining Guide, reached out to international visitors in the U.K., Ireland, Germany, Austria, New Zealand and Australia, assembled a successful group meeting sales team and created a strong social media presence for our destination.”
The HBMVB will be conducting a nationwide search for Bone’s replacement. Bone will stay involved with the organization as an advisor until September 2014.
