Henderson Plans for $70 Million Indoor Sports Complex

Las Vegas suburb will present the project for final approval July 2

Henderson, Nevada, has announced plans for a $70 million indoor sports complex has been presented for final approval at a July 2 City Council meeting.

The planned 180,000 square-foot, two-level complex is anticipated to have basketball courts that can convert to other uses such as volleyball and pickleball; hybrid turf fields for indoor soccer, box lacrosse and indoor football plus family entertainment areas.

The majority of the $70 million project is being funded through a public-private partnership with KemperSports. Henderson residents will be eligible for 20 percent discounts on all amenities. The facility will also utilize one-time funding sources, including the public infrastructure bond sale, West Henderson Development Fund and City Municipal Facilities Fund.

“We are looking forward to partnering with the city of Henderson to bring their innovative vision of a state-of-the-art sports complex to life,” said Steve Goris, KemperSports senior vice president. “This complex will be a tremendous community asset for local residents and a destination for youth sports families.”

In addition to the recreational amenity, the complex will work to attract sports tournaments, locally and regionally.

“We are proud to be leaders of public-private partnerships that have benefited our residents,” said Henderson City Manager and Chief Executive Officer Richard Derrick. “We are excited to see the successes of this indoor sports complex, just as we have seen with the America First Center and Lee’s Family Forum.”
