The Greater Orlando Sports Commission has announced a series of promotions and title changes to start the new year at the Florida destination.
The announcement comes at the start of a busy spring for the organization, which was founded in 1992. The LPGA Tour’s Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions comes to Orlando from January 18-21, followed by the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials on February 3 with the NFL Pro Bowl at Camping World Stadium on February 4. The PGA Tour’s Arnold Palmer Invitational follows from March 7-10.
“Each of these individuals has made significant contributions to the Greater Orlando Sports Commission,” said GO Sports President and Chief Executive Officer Jason Siegel. “It’s an exciting time in our organization and I look forward to all we will continue to do together.”
Kyle Sturley will be the associate vice president of marketing, communications and special events. Having joined the organization in 2013, Sturley previously served as senior director of marketing, communications and special events. She will continue to lead the organization’s marketing, communications, social media and public relations efforts, and manage vendor relationships in each of these areas. Sturley will also continue to manage marquee events that are hosted or co-hosted by GO Sports. Sturley held roles with ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference before joining GO Sports.
Lindsey McBride is now associate vice president of events, operations and business development. McBride first worked for the Greater Orlando Sports Commission in 2005 and re-joined the organization in 2016. She will continue to oversee events and business development for Lake and Osceola Counties, in addition to her responsibilities in the finance department. An Orlando native, McBride graduated from the University of Florida where she was a member of the women’s soccer team that won an SEC Championship and advanced to the Women’s College Cup Semifinals in 2001.
Nolan McDonald will be manager of corporate partnerships, marketing and events. He will continue to support the organization’s efforts across corporate partnerships, marketing and events while also organizing GO Sports’ quarterly board meetings. McDonald joined the Greater Orlando Sports Commission as a full-time staff member in 2021 after interning with GO Sports in 2019.
Elizabeth Caldarelli is the new manager of business development and events. Caldarelli joined GO Sports in 2022 after graduating from Troy University with a masters in Sport Management. She previously served as an event coordinator, assisting with the operations of the 2023 NCAA Tournament first- and second-round games hosted at the Kia Center. In her new role, she will oversee business development and events for Seminole County and continue to manage the organization’s attraction ticket program.
