Global endurance cycling series GFNY has announced its 2025 calendar of 30 races, six of which will take place in the United States.

GFNY Miami is the first American destination on the schedule for April 13. New York will host two races on May 18 — the Gran Premio New York City UCI pro race and the 13th annual edition of the GFNY World Championship NYC.

The new GFNY Pittsburgh event will take place September 21 between Pittsburgh and Monroeville, Pennsylvania. GFNY Maryland in Cambridge will be October 5 with the last U.S. race, GFNY Florida, slated for October 26 in Sebring.

The New York event will feature two races happening on the same course. The 120 professional cyclists will start the 85-mile course before thousands of amateurs on the lower level of the George Washington Bridge on May 18. Both races will follow the GFNY course through Bergen County, New Jersey, and Rockland County, New York, with 6,500 feet of climbing.

“Holding a professional and mass-participation race at the same time on the same course was done for the first time ever at last year’s inaugural GP NYC,” said Uli Fluhme, GFNY chief executive officer and GP NYC race director. “It was exciting to see the difference in racing between pros and amateurs.”

The inaugural Pittsburgh race will start and finish in Monroeville, 15 minutes east of Pittsburgh. The course will take riders through Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties. The competitive long distance is 70 miles long with 7,756 feet of climbing, making it the most difficult race on the GFNY USA calendar.

“We’re excited to make true gran fondo racing accessible for riders in the USA,” said GFNY President Lidia Fluhme. “Like all GFNYs, the U.S. events offer proper start to finish chip timing with right of way at all intersections for all riders. If you participate in a GFNY, you’re getting the traditional and true gran fondo race experience as known and born in Europe over 50 years ago.”

The rest of the 2025 GFNY schedule includes seven races in France and 14 races in Latin America. The season starts February 16 in Bali, Indonesia, and finishes in December in Cusco, Peru.
