GEF and IESF Create Esports Leadership Group
Teams will collaborate on key initiatives for growth
Posted On: January 24, 2024 By :The Esports Leadership Group has been established to facilitate collaboration by the Global Esports Federation and International Esports Federation to establish a series of working teams focusing on implementing the principles outlined in the MoU into a set of tangible initiatives.
The two organizations recently announced a collaboration to drive advancement and deliver new opportunities across the esports landscape. The ELG will establish a series of working teams focusing on implementing the principles outlined in the memorandum into a set of tangible initiatives.
“We are entering an exciting phase in the development of esports, including the recent announcement by the IOC on the Olympic Esports Games, and diverse content being offered around the world,” said Ser Miang Ng, an IOC vice president and chair of the Esports Leadership Group. “The collaboration of efforts and work between GEF and IESF will contribute to the global development of esports and the prospect of collaborating with the International Olympic Committee and sports.”
The leadership group will be chaired by Ng, IESF President Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud and Chris Chan, president of the Global Esports Federation. Founded in 2008, the IESF is currently composed of 139 member federations across five continents. The Global Esports Federation is based in Singapore with hubs around the world.
