The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has selected Gainesville, Florida, and the Alachua County Sports & Events Center to host the 2025 and 2026 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, with the first event taking place February 27 through March 1, 2025.
The Alachua County Sports & Events Center includes a 200-meter banked, six-lane track with eight lanes on the sprint runway, two raised horizontal jump runways, one raised pole vault runway, a throws cage with landing areas, and a high jump area on the sprint lanes. The facility also has two warmup lanes on the east side of the building near the clerking area.
“The NAIA is thrilled to host our indoor track and field championships at this world-class facility,” said NAIA Championships Director Austin Bennett. “It’s clear that the Alachua County Sports & Events Center will host a top-notch event and provide an exceptional experience for our student-athletes and fans.”
The NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships are conducted over three days using a prelims/finals format for most of the track events. The 2025 championships will be the women’s 45th and the men’s 60th anniversaries for indoor track and field. The 2024 indoor track and field championships were held in South Dakota at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex, with Cumberlands University (Kentucky) and Indiana Tech winning the men’s and women’s national championship, respectively.
“The Gainesville Sports Commission is excited to welcome athletes, coaches, and attendees to Alachua County, Florida, for the 2025 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships,” said Joleen Cacciatore Miller, executive director of the Gainesville Sports Commission. “It’s an honor to host this event for the first time in the state of Florida at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at Celebration Pointe. Good luck to all the athletes and please enjoy what our community has to offer.”
