The Las Vegas Grand Prix Pit Building will be housing the Grand Prix Plaza in partnership with Round Room Live with karting, educational exhibitions, merchandise and more with its opening scheduled for the spring of 2025.
Grand Prix Plaza is a multi-use complex and year-round destination for private events. The 39-acre property houses the Las Vegas Grand Prix Pit Building. The announcement was made days before this year’s Las Vegas Grand Prix, the second annual event that is near the end of the Formula 1 calendar.
“The opening of Grand Prix Plaza’s year-round, consumer facing programming will enable Formula 1 to engage with visitors to the Valley and residents alike in new and exciting ways,” said Renee Wilm, Las Vegas Grand Prix chief executive officer. “Our commitment to the Las Vegas community runs deep and we could not be happier to bring this collection of unique and immersive experiences to the destination.”
Programming at Grand Prix Plaza will be highlighted by F1 Drive, where fans have the opportunity to race along a 1,650-foot-long racetrack that incorporates part of the Las Vegas Grand Prix circuit. Drivers will be able to optimize their ride with electric karts that are equipped with DRS technology, engine sounds and a LED steering wheel display.
The plaza will also include immersive exhibitions through F1 X that describes the series, its teams, how cars are designed and parts of each race including pit stops. There will also be a F1 Hub with a collection of racing simulators and retail store.
“As F1 continues to grow in popularity in new regions and demographics, we recognized the opportunity to create an immersive touch point in North America all year long,” said Emily Prazer, F1 and Las Vegas Grand Prix chief commercial officer. “The programming planned for 2025 will build excitement around the sport through educational and interactive experiences and ultimately help to expand F1’s presence in Las Vegas and in the U.S. more broadly.”
Grand Prix Plaza will offer three new private event spaces that will be available to rent year-round with a Turn 1 lounge, Cool Down Room and GPP Garage.
Vegas a New Stop on 2025 F1 Academy Calendar
The F1 Academy, which develops young female drivers on the road to potentially being part of Formula 1, will have seven events in 2025 with three new stops including Las Vegas.
The 2025 season will open in China, which joins the calendar for the first time, before the series returns to Jeddah and Miami, which both featured in 2024. The following rounds will be in Montreal, Zandvoort and Singapore before the series’ third season will reach its conclusion in Las Vegas.
“(The calendar) demonstrates our continued commitment to taking the series to new heights, expanding our global reach and bringing our mission to an increasingly diverse and engaged global audience,” said Susie Wolff, F1 Academy managing director. “Finishing our season in Las Vegas will be an iconic moment.”
