Everett to Host Massive 3on3 Basketball Tournament
Downtown area will feature 40 courts and hundreds of games across age divisions
Posted On: April 3, 2024 By :The streets of downtown Everett, Washington, will become a basketball playground July 13–14 with the third annual Everett 3on3 Basketball Tournament, a joint effort between Eventuris and the city.
The downtown area will feature 40 basketball courts and hundreds of basketball games. In addition to the basketball tournament, there will also be a 3-point shot contest presented by the Snohomish County Sports Commission, a skills challenge and a dunk contest.
“I’m so excited to welcome the fantastic Everett 3on3 basketball tournament back to Everett for yet another fun weekend,” said Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin. “For the past two years, this tournament has drawn thousands to our downtown to participate in and watch the competitions as well as check out Everett’s many restaurants, bars and unique shops and I know this year will be bigger than ever.”
The courts will be set up in the middle of Colby Avenue between Pacific and Everett Avenues and along Wetmore Avenue between Hewitt and Everett Avenues. For the first time, the Salty Sea Days summer block party will occur during the same weekend, adjacent to the basketball courts.
“Salty Sea Days is a beloved community event for our city and we’re thrilled to host it this year in conjunction with the 3on3 tournament on such a fun and vibrant weekend in our community,” said Liz Stenning, Downtown Everett Association executive director.
There are eight age divisions of competition, starting with the ages 8–9 youth division and going all the way up to a 35-plus adult division. Boeing is the presenting sponsor and Amazon returns as a major, providing a player bag to each participant.
“The tournament brings people together, fosters friendly competition and highlights the vibrant Everett community,” said Bill McSherry, vice president, Boeing state and local government operations. “We look forward to another successful tournament and the positive impact it brings to the city where so many Boeing employees live and work.”
