Duluth, Minnesota, will host the 2025 USA Curling national championships for men and women at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center from January 27 through February 2, the national governing body announced.
It will be the first time the national championship event has taken place in Minnesota. The announcement comes after the national governing body hosted a successful 2024 National Championships at The Rink at American Dream.
“It’s exciting to bring this important national championship to a city and a state that is synonymous with curling,” said USA Curling Chief Executive Officer Dean Gemmell. “Duluth is home to Olympic and World Champions and we know that people from around the country will have a terrific experience when they visit this thriving city.”
Eight men’s and eight women’s teams will earn berths in the event. The winners move on to represent the United States at the 2025 World Men’s Championship in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and the 2025 World Women’s Championship in Uijeongbu, Korea, along with having an opportunity to earn a spot in the Olympic Team Trials in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in November 2025.
“Our city is often called a true original — both rugged and refined, with all kinds of things to do,” said Jessica Kilby of Visit Duluth. “We can’t wait to showcase Duluth to visitors from around the country.”
The Duluth Curling Club — part of the same complex as the DECC — will be a hub for the curling community and a place for fans to gather after games.
“Key to this effort will be the involvement and support of Visit Duluth, the Minnesota Curling Association, the Duluth Curling Club and organizations around the state like the Twin Cities Curling Association,” Gemmell said. “We have already begun collaborating with many in the curling community, and we look forward to working together in the months ahead.”
