Just in time for its 100th anniversary, Destination Marketing Association International has created the Hall of Fame Award to recognize individuals who have changed the future of destination marketing for the better, made significant contributions to the advancement of the industry and shaped travel marketing.
The award also provides a historical narrative of the leaders who have helped grow and nurture the DMO industry through the years.
The inaugural inductees are: Milton Carmichael, president, CEO and founder of the Detroit Convention and Tourists’ Bureau; Leonard Rolston, former president of the Greater Houston Convention & Visitors Bureau; Peggy Flower, former executive director of convention sales of the Greater Omaha (Nebraska) Convention & Visitors Bureau; George Kirkland, former president of the Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau; Rossi Ralenkotter, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority; and Gary Grimmer, CEO of Gaining Edge, which is based in Melbourne, Australia.
