Destination Sport Experiences will launch a program of training camps at seven sports resorts in Europe to help athletes train in the offseason in cycling, running and triathlon while also incorporating the possibility of a family holiday.
Resorts in Mallorca, Sardinia, Slovakia, Tenerife, Thailand and Turkey have been picked by the team. Athletes can either put together their own training schedules or Destination Sport Experiences will create a bespoke long weekend or week-long program that can include coaching, guided rides and runs and other sports depending on the resort.
“These incredible sports resorts bring together inspiring locations with state-of-the-art training facilities and high-quality hotels,” said Christian Locke, head of product at Destination Sport Experiences. “Anyone who’s serious about performing at their best in their target event will understand the importance of creating the perfect conditions for a block of training – and with these resorts we’ve done exactly that.”
The resorts include X-Bionic Sphere, Slovakia; Gloria Sports Arena, Turkey; Thanyapura, Thailand; Tenerife Top Training (T3), Tenerife; Kimpton Aysla, Mallorca; Forte Village, Sardina and the England Athletics Algarve Spring Training Camp in Portugal.
Destination Sport Travel has previous experience in rugby, working on behalf of Scottish Rugby and nine domestic clubs that compete across the Gallagher Premiership and United Rugby Championship.
