Demp Bradford Named Vice President of Greensboro Sports Foundation
Bradford returns to Greensboro after six years in Asheville; will also take title of chief operating officer
Posted On: June 14, 2022 By :Demp Bradford has been named vice president/chief operating officer of the Greensboro Sports Foundation, effective July 1.
Bradford will be responsible for the management of operations and execution of events supported by the Greensboro Sports Foundation and will play a key role in the expansion of the Greensboro Sports Foundation’s presence in sports tourism in the area.
Bradford returns to Greensboro from Asheville, North Carolina, where he has served as president and executive director of the Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission for the past six years.
“The Greensboro Sports Foundation is thrilled to have Demp return to Greensboro after six impressive years building the Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission,” said GSF President and Chief Executive Officer Richard Beard. “Demp’s previous experience in Greensboro, with the addition of leading sports tourism in Asheville, adds strong leadership to the Greensboro Sports Foundation and our vision to build on the Tournament Town brand.”
Bradford has an extensive local background in sports, having previously served as the vice president of the Greensboro Sports Commission and helping direct more than 800 community volunteers for the Tournament Host Committee of Greensboro from 2005-2016. In addition, he served as the executive director of the Greensboro Youth Soccer Association from 1998–2004.
“I am very excited to return to Greensboro and work with Richard to expand and elevate the Greensboro Sports Foundation to a new level,” Bradford said. “Asheville has played a critical part of my professional development and my life, and it will always be special to me, but I look forward to taking on this new challenge. Greensboro has tremendous facilities and incredible people and I look forward to helping to bring sporting events to Greensboro.”
