League of Legends has an official cryptocurrency sponsor after the game’s publisher, Riot Games, agreed to a sponsorship deal with cryptocurrency exchange FTX.
The reported seven-year deal will grant FTX branding and sponsorship rights across LCS platforms. The branding will be on LCS broadcasts; player net worth, total team gold and gold graphs will all be presented by FTX, which will also sponsor the LCS Most Improved Player Award.
The sponsorship starts as the LCS Playoffs get underway on Saturday.
“Those metrics pointed to a direct interest in the crypto category, where FTX stands out as an innovative, thoughtful leader in a space our fans understand,” Riot Games said in a statement.
