Crosscut Mountain Sports Center To Host U.S. Biathlon Senior Nationals
U.S Biathlon announces full 2024-25 domestic events calendar
Posted On: May 9, 2024 By :The 2025 U.S. Biathlon Senior Nationals and Spring Festival will be hosted by the new venue at Crosscut Mountain Sports Center in Bozeman, Montana, from March 26–30, 2025.
In years past, the largest gathering of U.S. Biathlon athletes, coaches and families has been at the annual U.S. Biathlon Nationals. This upcoming season, Crosscut Mountain Sports Center will host the U.S. Biathlon Senior Nationals, Collegiate Biathlon National Championships and Spring Festival March for youth, junior, senior, para and masters athletes. It will serve as National Championships for collegiate and senior athletes after competing at IBU World Cup 9 in Oslo.
“Crosscut is thrilled to bring U.S. Biathlon Senior Nationals to Bozeman, Montana this coming winter,” said Seth Hubbard, director of biathlon at Crosscut. “We look forward to showing the biathlon community our world-class facilities, and bringing the biathlon community together for a festival where youth, junior, para, masters and World Cup athletes can compete together on the same courses while having some fun at the end of the season.”
The 2024-25 domestic events calendar includes a new layout of events with the intent of maximizing the number of athletes competing for a National Championship title by age category, taking place over the course of the season.
“We’ve put a lot of thought and energy into how we can maximize participation across all athlete categories and are excited to introduce a new domestic race layout this season,” said U.S. Biathlon Director of Sport Development John Farra. “In 2023, we had the largest participation of youth and juniors at their International Team Trials, and with a large contingent of masters athletes expected from Canada coming to race the first NorAm Masters Championships next February, we have prioritized ensuring as many athletes as possible have the opportunity to race for National Championship medals this upcoming season.”
The season will start October 3–5, 2024, with the U.S. Biathlon Fall Festival and International Team Trials at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway, Utah, which recently hosted the 2024 IBU World Cup and is scheduled to host biathlon in the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Soldier Hollow will also host the U.S. Biathlon Youth and Junior Nationals and International Team Trials from December 27–31, 2024, before the U.S. Biathlon Masters Nationals and NorAm Masters Championship will be February 14–16, 2025, at Ariens Nordic Center in Brillion, Wisconsin.
“We are so pleased that Crosscut Mountain Sports Center, Soldier Hollow Nordic Center and Ariens Nordic Center are opening their venues to our biathlon community this upcoming season for what will no doubt be incredible competitions and hopefully recording breaking participation by our U.S. Biathlon members,” said Farra.
