The city will be home to the 2025 and 2026 events at Ed Robson Arena
Posted On: October 15, 2024 By :Colorado Springs, Colorado, will host the USA Weightlifting championship week in both 2025 and 2026, marking the national governing body’s first multi-year partnership with a destination.
Colorado Springs hosted the event in 2023. After a detour to Pittsburgh in 2024, Colorado’s second biggest city will welcome the event back for the next two years.
“We are thrilled to extend our stay in Olympic City USA,” said Pedro Meloni, USA Weightlifting director of events and sponsorship. “The event in 2023 was a great success. We want to repeat what worked and continue to provide our members with a world class experience in our home town.”
The competitions will take place from June 21–29, 2025, and June 20–28, 2026, at the Ed Robson Arena. Opened in 2021 as the home for Colorado College hockey, the venue features 3,400 permanent seats and is located at the north end of downtown Colorado Springs.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to host the 2025 and 2026 Weightlifting National Championships at Ed Robson Area,” said Justine Square, executive director at Ed Robson Arena. “The 2023 event showcased the versatility of the space and a tremendous success in our growing partnership with USA Weightlifting. We are excited to continue to bring many new faces to CC’s campus and the Colorado Springs community.”
Colorado Springs, designated as Olympic City USA in 2015, is home to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee and over 20 National Governing Bodies, as well as the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center.
