The 2025 championship were awarded to Matthew, North Carolina, after this year’s event was scheduled for Chattanooga. But with Chattanooga removing itself as host for the 2024 championships, Matthew will move up a season to 2025, allowing Colorado Springs to host for the second time in four years and first since 2021.
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference will again partner with the Colorado Springs Sports Corp and Switchbacks FC to host the two championships.
“This is not only a significant achievement for our city, but also a testament to the vibrant sports culture and community spirit that define Olympic City USA,” said Megan Leatham, president and chief executive officer of Colorado Springs Sports Corp. “Hosting such a prestigious event will undoubtedly have a positive economic impact on Colorado Springs, bringing in visitors, revenue, and opportunities for local businesses.”
The event will feature four men’s and four women’s playing six games over the course of the week.
“We are thrilled that the Division II Men’s and Women’s Soccer Committees supported our proposal to host the 2025 Championships,” said RMAC Commissioner Chris Graham. “The 2021 joint championship we hosted was widely recognized within the Division II soccer community as having an exceptional facility in Weidner Field, considerable partners with the Switchbacks and Colorado Springs Sports Corp, and within one of the most beautiful cities in America.”
The 2021 NCAA DII Soccer Championships received additional support from other RMAC institutions, including University of Colorado–Colorado Springs, which will again partner in hosting the 2025 championships.
“It’s exciting to welcome back the NCAA DII Men’s and Women’s Soccer National Championships to Colorado Springs next year,” said Nick Ragain, Switchbacks FC president. “Hosting eight teams for six matches at Weidner Field makes for a fun and action-packed week downtown.”
Since hosting the 2021 championships, Colorado State-Pueblo has closed each of the past two seasons as runner-up in the men’s tournament.
“We are so excited to partner with the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation and Switchbacks FC to bring the NCAA Division II Soccer Championships back to Colorado Springs in 2025,” said RMAC Assistant Commissioner Ashley Dsida. “We are excited to showcase the Olympic City USA once again and provide the student-athletes, coaches and administrators with an incredible championship experience.”
