Celtic Soccer Academy and Elite Tournaments have announced a partnership that will see the Scottish Premiership club host its first international tournament in North America.
“We are thrilled to partner with Celtic FC and the Celtic Soccer Academy to bring an unparalleled brand experience and youth event to Maryland,” said Elite Tournaments President Mike Libber. “This collaboration not only highlights our commitment to community engagement but also provides an incredible opportunity for young athletes to learn from one of the most storied football clubs in the world.”
The Celtic Soccer Academy Elite Cup will take place December 6–7. It will be attended by clubs from across the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States and will focus on player development, with opportunities for players to be selected to perform at a player development camp.
The long-term partnership will provide opportunities to expand and engage the Celtic fan base. Elite Tournaments has previously had a similar agreement with English Premier League side Southampton. Celtic FC is the most decorated club in Scottish soccer with 54 Scottish League Championships, 42 Scottish Cup titles and 22 Scottish League Cups.
“We are delighted to announce our partnership with Elite Tournaments as they are the best at delivering sporting tournaments in the U.S.,” said Ray Hewitt, Celtic International Soccer Academy manager. “This tournament will allow us to further engage with clubs, players and coaches across the U.S., meaning we can provide more coach education and player development opportunities than ever before.”
