ATPI Sports Events will be sponsoring the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race for the second year in a row, setting up crews and their supporters with a travel desk with offline support from booking flights to arranging on-shore accommodation.
ATPI will provide crews with the opportunity to book marine air fares, allowing for extra baggage allowance and flexibility with cancellations when traveling. ATPI will also support the race office with travel and accommodation arrangements.
“We are proud to be the official travel supplier of the Clipper 2023-24 race,” ATPI Sports Events Regional Managing Director Adam Knights said. “Our passionate team has great experience in managing the complex needs of leading sports events and organizations and looks forward to becoming an integral part of the Clipper Race.”
The Clipper Race sees 700-plus crew race over 40,000 nautical miles around the world, traveling across six continents over a span of eleven months. The race was founded in 1996 by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, the first person to sail solo and non-stop around the world.
“On a global yacht race, Clipper Race crew, supporters and the race office require complete flexibility in booking travel,” said Matt Petit, operations and logistics manager at the Clipper Race. “This is due to the unpredictable nature of ocean racing and the time frames when we arrive at destinations around the world.”
