“U.S. Figure Skating is very excited about each of our top-tier events,” U.S. Figure Skating Chief Executive Officer Tracy Marek said. “These events span our nation to provide amazing opportunities for skaters at all levels from our juveniles to adults as well as our fans and the skating community. Running January 20-26, 2025, at Intrust Bank Arena, this will be the first time the U.S. Championships will be held in Wichita and in the state of Kansas. U.S. champions will be crowned in Wichita in the women’s, men’s, pairs and ice dance events at both the junior and senior levels. Novice pairs and ice dance will also be contested.
“It has been an honor to host four figure skating events over the last seven years, facilitating a strong relationship with U.S. Figure Skating and giving us the chance to gain the trust and experience needed to host U.S. Figure Skating’s most prestigious event,” said Susie Santo, president and chief executive officer of Visit Wichita. “This is an incredible opportunity for Wichita to showcase our energetic and welcoming city to figure skating athletes and fans from around the country.”
The U.S Figure Skating Championships have the potential for significant economic impact on Wichita, as past events have generated an estimated $8 million in host markets.
“Hosting the 2025 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships is not only a win in terms of local economic impact for Wichita but will also be seen by a national audience and will provide a great experience for locals and people in the region,” Visit Wichita Vice President of Sports Development Josh Howell said. “We are passionate about creating incredible experiences for the athletes, fans and everyone who visits our city.”
