The 2024 Women’s Collegiate Triathlon National Championships will take place November 9 in Clermont, Florida, crowning women’s collegiate champions in Divisions I, II and III in the emerging collegiate sport.
The event is organized by Streamline Events and run in conjunction with the 2024 USA Triathlon Clermont Age Group Challenge Cup. Clermont hosted the inaugural Women’s Collegiate Triathlon National Championships in 2014.
“On behalf of our partners, the City of Clermont and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, we are thrilled to have been selected to host the upcoming Women’s Collegiate National Championships,” said Ryan Ritchie, director of Discover Lake County Office of Tourism and Sports. “Without the support from the Lake County Board of County Commissioners and Tourist Development Council, opportunities like this would not be possible. Events like this, create national exposure and bring attention to our first-class facilities in Lake County, as well as enhancing our economic development and impact with college athletes, visitors and families visiting our communities.”
An NCAA Emerging Sport for Women, women’s collegiate triathlon features the same racing that is contested at the elite level. More than 40 schools offer women’s collegiate triathlon at the varsity level as the sport has a few more steps to take on its way to being fully managed by the NCAA as a Championship Sport. Arizona State won its seventh consecutive Division I last year while Lenoir-Rhyne won its second consecutive Division II title and North Central College won its second consecutive national title in Division III.
“We’re looking forward to an exciting Women’s Collegiate Triathlon season, capped by the National Championships in Clermont, Florida, one of the most storied triathlon meccas in the country,” said Tim Yount, chief sport development officer at USA Triathlon. “Bill and his team have done a tremendous job hosting multisport events throughout the years and I have no doubt the athletes from the more than 40 NCAA programs racing at Nationals will have an amazing, first-class experience.”
The race venue is located within Lake Louisa State Park, a short drive from Orlando. The course is closed to traffic. The USA Triathlon Clermont Age Group Challenge Cup race offers age group athletes the opportunity to qualify for the 2025 World Triathlon Aquathlon World Championships and earn USA Triathlon Rankings points for 2024.
