2024 Billie Jean King Cup Moves to Malaga From Sevilla

Event will be held in conjunction with the Davis Cup Final 8 in November

The 2024 Billie Jean King Cup Finals will move to Malaga, Spain, from Sevilla and be paired with the Davis Cup Final 8 men’s competition in November.

The BJK Cup Finals dates and match schedule will remain November 13–20. The Davis Cup Final 8 match schedule and dates will take place November 19–24 with both events at Malaga’s Palacio de Deportes Jose Maria Martin Carpena Arena.

“Our priority is to ensure the Billie Jean King Cup Finals continue seamlessly as the most exciting and unique women’s team tennis tournament on the 2024 calendar,” said Ilana Kloss, chair of Billie Jean King Cup Ltd. “Malaga, just 130 miles from Sevilla, has been a fantastic host of the Davis Cup Final 8 since 2022 and we know that its world-class facilities and passionate fans will help create another unique and memorable world championship.”

Billie Jean King Cup Limited shares marketing and promotion for the event with the International Tennis Federation. All existing ticket holders for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Sevilla have been offered the chance to exchange their tickets for the same sessions in Malaga or receive a full refund.

“We remain dedicated to ensuring a seamless experience for players and fans and delivering an event that will be both special and memorable,” said Kelly Fairweather, chief executive officer of International Tennis Federation. “We are confident that this move will uphold the prestigious legacy of both tournaments and look forward to hosting the world’s best 20 teams, their players and fans to Malaga this November.”

The relocation was required by the event’s host partner, Junta de Andalucía, and supported by the city of Malaga.

“With great responsiveness from all local institutions, together with ITF and BJKC Limited, we have a unique opportunity to host the two main international tennis competitions in the same venue, something that has never happened before, and which will once again project the Andalusia brand as a host of major sporting events,” said Arturo Bernal, minister of tourism, culture and sport of Junta de Andalucía.
